Peace is characterized by ” freedom from disturbance, quiet and tranquility.” Peace is an adorned trait in the life of a person who makes it a discipline to set her affection on the things that adds value to the most important areas of life.
God commands us in Colossians 3:1, “Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is seated at the right hand of God.” (NIV)
In life sometimes we thrown a curve ball with certain demands and requirements of us. The demands of family responsibilities, chores, running errands, balancing work/family life can create a dysfunctional aligning of your purpose in the fulfillment and carrying out of these roles and responsibilities. It is during these moments of balancing roles and stress is where we learn to become still and sit quietly in the presence of the Savior and find peace.
Finding peace in His presence refreshes the soul, calms the weary mind, and helps you to refocus by bringing your attention to the center of the essence of your divine purpose. Peace is basically defined as a “state of rest”- rest from worries, rest from fears, rest from the anxieties of life. Recognizing this place of rest in your life is where you learn how not to compare your life to others, but will true and lasting fulfillment in the very things that makes you feel alive. Guarding your peace is a must to your spiritual growth and spiritual time of refreshing. Guard and protect your peace at all cost!
Shalom
My pastor, literally this morning, did a FB Live on this subject. I know God is speaking and I must take heed. Been going through some turmoil and couldn’t find peace. God started to work on me. No lie, I took off the wig, started to wear more natural looks as far as makeup, began to work on projects I walked away from, and I’m starting to love me more and more each day. I’m experiencing this peace from God and it feels great.
Thanks for the wonderful post. God bless you.
