How abundant are the good things that You have stored up for those who fear You, that You bestow in the sight of all, on those who take refuge in You. Psalm 31:19
One of the great things I love about gardening is the abundance of produce that appear thoughout the growing season. However, during the fall, my garden starts to die back and it saddens me that I can no longer look forward to walking through my garden with hopes of seeing a ripe tomato, golden squash, the bountiful supply of cucumbers, peppers, and beans.
However, it feels good to know that I have been able to store up some of my produce in the freezer. But, what little I have stored up for myself is nothing in comparison to the abundance of blessings God has stored up for those who fear Him. The abundance of veggies I had during the summer months remind me of God’s blessing that He has stored up for those who fear him.
Maybe you find yourself saddened by the fact that summer is behind us and you can no longer look forward to hot days by the pool, family BBQ’s, sitting on the front porch talking to neighbors, or all of the many activities you and your family enjoy thoughout the summer. Maybe the thought of fall makes you feel melancholy and dreading the cold days and nights that await you.
I am here to encourage you that God has stored up an abundance of blessing for you. It may be that the fall season, which will quickly give way to cold days and less sunshine, brings your spirit down a btt, but you can get excited about and look forward to all God has in store for you.
Psalm 65:11 it states,
You Crown the year with Your goodness and your paths drip with abundance.
Prayer: Dear God, I pray that every heart is touched with the abundance of goodness that You have stored up for those that love You. As our daylight becomes shorter and the leaves fall to the ground, let it be a reminder to us all of Your abundance of blessing.
