Do you ever feel as if you have been working towards something and it’s never going to happen? The book you might have started that you won’t be able to finish. The business plan and the proposal you started that may never come to fruition. That great idea that you could not wait to start is now piled up underneath a bunch of other dreams and goals and papers – and you feel like none of these things would ever come to pass.
Not to mention the laundry that has been piling up for three weeks and the day to day duties and tasks that you have to do that always seem so pressing.
I know you are overwhelmed. God knows you are overwhelmed but the good news is that He said in His Word in Jeremiah 29:11: For I know the plans that I have for you, declares the Lord. Plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future. I want you to know that you are right where God needs for you to be. I remember hearing my mother in law say a couple of weeks ago something that she heard and it really blessed me. She said, “If you are going to beat yourself up, do it with a feather.”
I was so encouraged to hear that because it allowed me to extend grace to myself. I realized that sometimes we can be so hard on ourselves. I can recall as a new believer that I really struggled with forgiving myself. I carried around a lot of guilt and shame and I even struggled with receiving forgiveness from the Lord. Until one day I felt like the Lord prompted me to forgive myself. I know that there is an appointed time for everything to take place in our lives and sometimes the enemy loves to make us think that we missed the boat but I want to encourage you today that God always has a get back on track plan.
God also tells us in His Word to never despise small beginnings – you have to start somewhere. I challenge you to set some short terms goals and some long terms goals and try to accomplish something once a month or if you feel like you can accomplish something once a week go for it. It could be something as simple as a library card. As you accomplish these things, check it off so you are able to track your progress. Before you know it you will be well on your way. I encourage you to begin to speak out what you want to see. Begin to command your morning everyday. I want to pray for you that from this day forward you will begin to see tangible fruit in your life.
Heavenly Father I thank you for the work that you have begun in and through this woman’s life. I decree and declare that from this day forward you will give them the boldness and the endurance to accomplish something tangible. We pray that you would bless the works of their hands and we thank you for giving them unspeakable joy as they work towards the goals and dreams that you have placed on the inside of them. Let them know that they are loved by you teach them to be patient with themselves and may they see the fruit from their labor. In Jesus name, Amen.
